Creating Upscale, Cost-Effective Faucet Displays

Background Information

The client wanted to update their faucet display program to make it look more upscale, while being cost effective.  Display pods needed to be precise and secure while not distracting from the beauty of the faucets they were to support. Replacement of the traditional over-sized pods was also necessary to create more product capacity.

Our Client wanted to deal with a single supplier who could provide all the capabilities to transform the faucet display program; design, fabrication, supply, installation support and project management to execute on this complex project. 

BMF’s Approach

BMF worked with the preliminary client concept and made numerous suggestions for improvement based on its experience in designing high producing displays.

Engineering software and in-house 3D printing were used to perfect bracket design and to develop the tooling needed for cost effective installation of the faucets without the risk of scratching.

Acrylic pods were designed and fabricated for maximum strength and clean lines. 

The Solution

BMF was intimately involved in the project right from the initial concept development, including computer modeling so the client could envision how the displays would look, and prototype development using 3D printing. Once the designs and prototype were approved, BMF manufactured the displays. Custom aluminum extrusion was used to ensure uniformity and accuracy of brackets.

BMF installed faucets onto display blocks in its facility and packaged them for safe handling when they arrived at the store. All mounted and built product was shipped to the retailer’s distribution center ready to be picked and shipped to its stores across Canada.

BMF also worked cooperatively with two of the client’s vendors who decided to install their own hardware on BMF supplied components.  This required organizing and expediting vendor product shipments to meet tight timelines. 

The Results

Despite the complexity of this project, the resets at all 182 stores was executed flawlessly and right on schedule. The brackets and pods continue to perform beautifully and subsequent line review additions have also been seamlessly executed.
